Typically, here is what you can ask; can a long distance relationship work? What should I do if my long distance boyfriend or girlfriend pulls away? How do I keep communication in a long distance relationship.

Here is an email I got today from a subscriber. She asks:

I recently got a job offer in a different country, so me and my boyfriend are in a long-distance relatioship, we usually chat on skype, but my problem is am the one who always initiates the chatting, it’s been a week since i arrived, and within this week, i have called him about 4 times, and he always picks my calls, we talk, he tells me how much he misses me, and that when i would like for him to come and visit me. But my problem is, he hasn’t called me even once, since i arrived, and doesn’t initiate the chatting. Should i talk to him about it, or should i got silent and see if he will call. OR Should i tell him i am not happy with our communication, because i usually don’t do the test thing, am usually upfront, but right now am confused…

I have been dating someone long distance for 2 months. They were admitted into the hospital the other evening and will be having surgery later this week. Due to a heart condition, and some complications a seemingly simply gallbladder removal has now become more serious. Is it wrong for me to want to travel the 5 hours to be there with them through this. I was suppose to be going there this weekend already, so it would essentially mean travelling there a couple days early. The only downside to all of this is that I have not met their family yet, and I am sure they will be there. Not that it makes me nervous or uncomfortable. But we have only met in person 1 time in 2 months. So, I’m confused as to whether it is appropriate to even be there or not…I care very deeply for this person and want to show my support. Help!

    Hi,

About 5 days ago my long distance girlfriend split up with me by phone.
It came as quite a shock as she had book flights to come and stay with me for a weekend in May about 10 days ago! Whats even more upsetting is that she is still making the trip to my home town but will now be staying with her cousin.
Her reason for not wanting to see me is she is fearful that she may be horrible towards me during her stay and that she feels the distance is getting too much for her. We have been spending weekends with each other since Xmas 2010 (at least once every 4 weeks and each one has been special for both of us) Our last weekend together 3 weeks ago in london was fantastic and she had mentioned about moving away together in the future and that she was so happy she found me….i feel like i don’t understand her anymore.

Her cousin asked me the other day what had happened and was very surprised to hear this but insisted that my ex will speak to me and will want to meet up with me over her trip in 3 weeks time. I don’t know what to do about contacting her and feel like I should speak to her before she arrives in 3 weeks. I have been told to use no contact for the 3 weeks until she arrives but i can’t see how that will help in this situation. She was really looking forward to this visit since it was the place that we first met(my home town) and we had planned on retracing our first meeting together.

Any advice on how i should proceed with her visit/contact would be much appreciated.

    thankyou.
